Youth Orchestra Programs

Aaron's exciting program working with youth orchestra's all over the Pacific Northwest is a five-hour workshop program of intense interaction with the young players during the day.  Aaron demonstrates how their classical music training may be integrated into contemporary, pop, and world music with a modern approach.

The program is often incorporated into an orchestral summer camp program, a school orchestra program, or in a community youth orchestra program during their seasonal schedule of events.

Aaron submits the scores for pieces of his original music to the music director prior to the workshop, so the young players have an opportunity to read through the pieces and practice it prior to Aaron's arrival.   Aaron brings his state of the art sound equipment, and conducts the group through their parts of his original music, illustrating his passion for the music, which he has arranged for full orchestral accompaniment while he plays lead.  He discusses how his world travels and cultural experiences influence how he composes his own unique style of music.

At the end of the day, young players have learned a new and innovative way they can use their classical training, to break outside the box and have fun with it, and be creative beyond anything they could have imagined.

The maximum five-hour day time workshop, with a lunch break, is then followed by an evening concert for community and family, in which Aaron performs his original compositions, along with the youth orchestra accompanying him for a spectacular evening of entertainment and music.  In addition, Aaron performs for about 45-minutes on his own.  The 1-hour concert is often promoted by the host as a fundraiser for the orchestral or music program putting on the event.

Community sponsors often play a roll and are acknowledged for their contributions.

"Working with Aaron for our String Camp program was quite the inspiration!  There seemed to be that little bit of extra electricity in the air the whole day as the students worked and played with Aaron.  We look forward to making him part of our program again."
